Shanghai is the second large city in China. It is also known as "The Pearl Of The Orient". In Shanghai a lot of business including financial is transacted and has a port that brims with activity. Contrary to Hong Kong, you will not find many cultural areas here. Even with that, there are still a lot of things to do and places of interest to go. Shanghai features a lot of eating places and shops.
The city of Shanghai is situated on the Huang Pu River. This River is flowing through the central-eastern area of China. Because it is considered a city situated on the coastal area, the level consists of low and flat lands.
In Chinese, Shanghai stands for "on the sea". Shanghai is located on the East China Sea and the Hangzhous Bay on the south and the west ends. It has two sections, Pudong and Puxi, split by the Huang Pu River. Pudong is situated on the east side of the river and Puxi is situated on the west side of the river. In Pudong, there are new buildings to include taller constructions while in Puxi, there are older constructions that have been there for years. There are a few things that you will be able to view from a distance when you're looking at them from either side.
Nowadays the population of Shanghai reputed to be approximately 17 million. Needless to say, that's not a explicit figure because you've to factor in those people that come to search for employment. The time during the fall is the best time to visit Shanghai. If you arrive during the spring season, you may have to run into lots of rain or more cold weather. You can try arriving between April and May, when the weather is acceptable. You will get a chance to see the flowers and plants grow.
The trees begin to branch out. If you prefer to travel on the fall season, the skies will still be clear and you'll be in the middle of a warm climate. There is a chance to enjoy in the warmth of fall and you probably will not run into any rain.
Whenever you do consider to travel to Shanghai, you may want to have an umbrella and raincoat in case you get caught in a shower. Also, don't forget some walking shoes if you would like to experience some of the old historic buildings in Shanghai.
Whatever you prefer to do, you will not have any chance to waste time when traveling to Shanghai.
